What makes our program different?
The Successful Addict is unlike any other program in the sex and porn addiction recovery space. This addiction presents differently for successful men and their recovery will be different also. While high-achievers do struggle with sex and porn addiction, they also need help addressing compulsive sexual behaviors. Like addiction, compulsive behaviors are also out of control and cannot be stopped. However, they have less to do with addiction and more to do with social norms, masculinity, successful male culture, and wanting attention from others.
High-achievers are outgoing, resourceful, and charismatic. They care about their image and will do just about anything to appear attractive, successful, and accomplished. All of these factors will play into the development of compulsive sexual behavior. The Successful Addict program addresses the addictive element. However, we also examine societal influences, successful male culture, and using women to fulfill an unmet need for attention.
To achieve long-term recovery, sex addicts do need to achieve sobriety. However, to prevent relapse, they will also need to change the beliefs that got them here in the first place.
